I thought it would be perfect,
Maybe thousands of miles searching
Wondering
Planting myself everywhere
Made me lose some of my true ambition,
Or the thing I’m really searching for,
But then I was set in front of you;
In front of this large field of
Sweet smelling
Mind capturing
Eye attaching
Lust enveloping…
-
I couldn’t help but indignify
My wonder and focus on you,
Though the roses lingered in the distance behind you
I paced over it again in mind,
But what’s was this orchid doing here
Too much on my plate of nectar already,
But I wanted to explore your essence
I seated myself under the oak tree of unnecessary assumption and uncertainty
Just far enough,
So when I awake in the afternoon I’d catch a glimpse of you,
Hoping that when the wind blew
Your scent could drift its way past me at least…

Sometimes you would stare
I could feel it
And,
So would I
Until the wind came and took my vision elsewhere
The shallow brook near catching a rock or two from me,
I sought out to gaze upon you again,
With your gold rust
And florescent beige texture
I thought to hurry and pick you
But the shade I sat in made me think otherwise,
I thought that if I picked you
You would wither away and die like the rose or inhale of a tulip
Scaring and or taking a part of me
I thought long and hard…

But its spring now
And I have to leave soon,
I’ve tried to make my way towards you
Nevertheless, I could only pass and reach
Never touch your petals,
Never sink your wondrous smell deep within my lungs,
Never get the chance to tilt you and observe close,
Never see you upon the birth of morning
Greet you with gifts of love and affection
Something only the most beautiful flowers deserve,
I couldn’t make up my mind
Though maybe some time in the sunlight could help
I stood up…

I felt heavy being known in your presence
My blood flowing like clock work
My fingers stirring the action of gripping,
The want to be gentle
But anxiety to sweep you from the ground
And keep you in the pocket over my heart,
I never perfected either technique
Because I can only do this once
And if you die I can’t have you again,
I chose not to show you my nomadic broken heart,
Rather a lighter shade of blue
No hint of fiend or hurt to you

But then I sensed something familiar
Something rose like,
Thorns that would pierce my skin
Tiny but not something to pay never minds to,
I acquitted myself from any action
I scurried back to that dreadful tree of unnecessary assumption and uncertainty
But Still I stare and still I wonder,
Of your beauty and whether I should pick you…
